Telco Cloud & Edge Forum is a two-day virtual free-to-attend event. We seek to answer the question, if cloud economics can make 5G the engine for digital transformation?
Day one:
Cloud-native is a new frontier for the telecoms set and a necessary frontier given capex and opex constraints, as well as the need to imbue 5G networks with hyperscale and new levels of flexibility. At the same time, the telecoms sector is a burgeoning market for hyperscalers looking to take learnings from more simplistic operational and business models and apply them to what is arguably the connective fabric of global commerce. With our deep expertise in telecoms, RCR Wireless News is positioned to facilitate a meaningful dialogue between major stakeholders who are committed to advancing their independent and collaborative growth strategies.
Day two:
5G supports multi-Gbps throughput, ultra-low latency, high reliability and support for massive numbers of connected devices. To ensure these advancements in latency aren’t offset by transporting data to centralised DCs for processing, compute and storage has to be distributed throughout the network. Investments at the mobile edge will enable 5G to meet the vision of real-time, responsive, network-based decision making and action. Without the mobile edge, enterprise 5G users won’t be able to gain the efficiencies associated with use cases like precision robotics, AGVs, computer vision, etc… On day two of this event, we seek to explore the buy and sell side of mobile edge computing as it is today and as it will be in the near future.
